No title - expert review Originally built between 1899 and 1903, this first-class hotel has been the stage for some fabled events: Lenin spoke frequently in the assembly hall of the building, and David Lean filmed part of Doctor Zhivago in the restaurant. The hotel is one of Moscow's most elegant, with outstanding service a... fodors.com
No title - expert review Recalling the splendor of prerevolutionary Russia, the opulent interiors of the Metropol hotel's grand dining hall are a stunning memorial to Russian art nouveau. The nearly three-story-high dining room is replete with stained-glass windows, marble pillars, and a leaded-glass roof. The beautifully s... fodors.com
No title - expert review The Art Nouveau mosaic by Mikhail Vrubel that tops the Metropol's facade sets it apart in era and in style from other hotels of its class. Some of its grandeur has faded in comparison to the newer luxury hotels in the neighborhood, but the Metropol, built in 1901 and last renovated in 1991, remains ... frommers.com

Overpriced and Sad - user review I could only get a single room. At more than $300 US, I should have had more than a tiny bed, a television that did not work and completely unhelpful staff. When checking out, the hotel had only one person at the cashier despite the fact that it was the prime check out time. Four requests later near... fodors.com
Completely Overrated - user review I love old hotels and simply do not understand the positive reviews on this one. You enter through a parking lot into a lobby that is supposed to be grand, but is not. The staff at the check in desk were some of the rudest I have ever encountered. The hallways have carpet that is threadbare in place... fodors.com

A legend - but why? - user review It is huge and knackered it reminded me of an institutional hospital, only the lunatics have been replaced by heavy expense businessmen who like a good choice of hookers in the lobby. Metropol: For the severely well heeled - user review For the ultimate luxury when in Moscow, I'd say you'd be hard pushed to beat the Metropol. Metropol: Hotel Metropol... - user review Hotel Metropol > Celebrating it's 100th Birthday in 1998.
