| City of 90.000 people in the east of The Netherlands. Close to the German bourder. Hengelo is a grown village, it desnt have a historical city center. It was bombed in WW2. That is why the architecture is dominated by post WW2 buildings. This gives the city a cold and boring look. For tourists there is not so much to do, except there is a musuem called "Old Hengel". Its about the city through the century's. More nice is to take a ride through the regio called "Twente". In the region around Hengelo you can find nice old farms, salt-winning places and you can make beautifull walks through the rural characterised landscapes. |
